My qualifications include: I am committed to my ongoing professional development and regularly attend seminars and workshops with leading trainers from the international field of counselling and psychotherapy. In so doing I am continuously extending my knowledge base and experience, and supporting my work with a wider range of client's difficulties. I am qualified and have experience of successfully working with clients who have mild psychiatric disorders or personality disorders and those who have a mild substance addiction. However, if your problem is chronic, I will advise you of agencies who deal with these specialist areas of work. Other Relevant Experience Before training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked for over twenty years as a business manager in the Civil Service. I am therefore well-placed to support clients who are trying to cope with the cultural pressures and expectations of working in a large organisation. Supervision of Clinical Practice I offer supervision to experienced therapists and therapists in training. As with my clients, I work with individuals and groups of supervisees in a relationally supportive and creative way, and always tailored to the specific needs of the individual. I work with trainees as well as experienced counsellors and psychotherapists and enjoy the challenges of different levels of working. As you will have seen on my Home page, my work is underpinned by a variety of theoretical models. In supervision I also take an Integrative approach, which is well able to support and challenge supervisees, regardless of their theoretical orientation. |
